Frequently Asked Questions

If you can’t make it to the event, don’t worry! You can still help us raise money by joining a walk team. As a walk participant, your real race is to see who can raise the most money. You can raise money without coming to the event itself, though we’d love for you to be there if it’s possible. As long as you raise the funds and turn in all moneys before the beginning of the event, you’ll be eligible for top prizes.
What if I don’t want to join a team but still want to come to the event?
It’s totally fine if you don’t want to join a team, but still want to come walk at our event; joining the walk event is free and open to anyone who shows up. However, we would encourage you to participate in the mission with us by helping us raise funds on your own! You can register as an individual fundraiser. Just click on the “Register” button at the top of this webpage and select “Register.” Fill out the registration form and simply choose the “I do not have a team” option.
Where does my money go?

Funds you help raise allow the Pregnancy Center to continue offering free services to clients for the fiscal year. It takes nearly $1,200 to empower one mom to choose life for her child here at the Pregnancy  Center. This year, our goal is $60,000. That’s equivalent to 50 moms.  How many will you help?

This year’s walk will account for approximately 25% of our overall budget. Please help us meet this goal! We are always available to talk further, if needed. A detailed breakdown of our budget is available upon request. Help us empower more moms to choose life for their children!

You can turn in money collected offline at the Pregnancy Center during normal business hours (Mon-Thur from 10am-5pm) or on the morning of the Walk event at check-in.
What happens if it rains on Saturday, September 28th?
Walk for Life takes place rain or shine. However, if weather conditions become dangerous, the event will be cancelled. Be sure to let your supporters know that the Pregnancy Center still needs their support, rain or shine. The real race is to see which team can raise the most money!
How do I (or how does my family) get a t-shirt?

If you have a family of walkers, make sure to register each member who wants a t-shirt so they can receive one by raising at least $100! That means if you’re bringing kids who want a t-shirt, make sure you register them, and have them ask friends, teachers, or family members to help them get to $100!

The easiest way to raise that $100 is for you to give $50, and for you to get one friend or family member to give $50. Or for you to give $20 and ask 4 people you know to give $20, etc. You can do it!

The walk is about 1.5 miles. If this is too far, just go part of the way and come back to the stage for refreshments while you wait to hear the total amount raised!
On the day of the walk, you will see lots of folks wearing the “Life Walk” T-shirts that they earned by raising at least $100. Some teams might even want to wear something that makes their team stand out!   It’s up to you,  but whatever you wear keep the weather in mind. You may want to dress in loose-fitting clothing (in layers to accommodate temperature changes), cotton or wool socks and walking or tennis shoes. For people who have special health needs or young children, bring any prescription medications or snacks in case an appropriate one is not provided.
Participants get supporters by asking! No one will support you if you don't  ask them. Many people are supported by co-workers, friends, family, neighbors, and local businesses. Some companies also sponsor their employees, or provide matching gifts. Sharing your heart for this ministry and your fundraiser page on your social media is a SUPER effective tool.
Participants who use online fundraising raise 3 to 4 times the amount of money than those who do not. It is safe and secure, and you don’t need to handle cash or deposit checks. Send the link to your fundraising page to friends and family via text message, email, or on social media! Don’t forget to share your heart for the mission of the Pregnancy Center. When your friends know WHY you support the Pregnancy Center and our mission to empower moms, they will be moved to help.
